These are both the nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS, but I guess different manufacturers. The "EVGA" is about $370, but the PNY card is about $456. What could possibly be worth 100 bucks on the same chipset?
Why are these 2 graphics cards SO different in price?
EVGA is a cheaper brand. but they both have a nvidia core. id go with the evga
i have one and i overclock it, and it works great.
Reply:not positive but a few minutes of google led me to believe the more expensive one had more memory
Reply:Amount of memory?
AGP vs PCI-E (if they are doing AGP for he 8k series)
that'll jack up the cost
Reply:You sure they both have the same amount of ram? Not tryin to be smart but this may be the case. You will also find that some card mfgs name their cards the same due to the chipset. The board itself may be layed out entirely different. Last but not least, consider the fact that different outlets vary their prices quite considerably. Try a search on Yahoo shopping for something once. You can easily find a product that averages 300 bucks in price can sell as low as 200 to as hi as 400 dollars or more and its the exact same thing!
Reply:Your paying for reliability and prestine.
Reply:Different boards run the chipset differently, some are better than others. The general rule is, you get what you pay for.
