Do graphics cards add ram to you computer?

Just bought an "Ati Radeon x800 Pro PCI-e video card w/AC Silencer 4" and was wondering if that will add ram to my computer.

Do graphics cards add ram to you computer?
Video cards do not add RAM to your computer. They have their own dedicated memory usually labeled VRAM, or Video RAM. This memory is only accessible by the video GPU on the card.
Reply:No, but you will free up RAM that your onboard video has been using. So in a way it will feel like you have more RAM.
