Is it possible to buy new graphics cards for a laptop? If so, where can I find them?

Games work just fine on laptops if you have enough oomph under the hood of one. As far as the video card goes though, what kind of laptop is it? As far as I know, only the boutique laptops have the video modules that you can upgrade...but even if you do that, there is the heat issue also......best bet would be to look on forums for people who have your kind of laptop and have upgraded (if possible to do so) and ask around to see what the heat issues are..wouldn't be any good to have blazing fast vid if your laptop shuts down every 1/2 hour

Your laptop could get hot from a new video card, and if u have one that isnt fit for ur motherboard then it will "restart"? Thats the stupidest answer ive ever heard, mine was by far better.

What is wrong with u? Report Abuse

Reply:Is it possible to purchase a video card? Well im not going to stop u ;-)

If u want to buy a new video card u must make sure that ur laptop can support it, check wich type of connection ur motherboard has and have someone install it for u. If u have the money, the 7900 GTX is a very good card, but i dont know how "high" of games ull be able to run on a laptop..
