How do I tell which graphics card is better?

I have two graphics cards. A ATI Radeon 9600 Series that is instaled in my couputer right now, and then a Ati Radeon X1650Pro SB Edition (X1650AGP512SB). I want to know which one is better and I dot know anything about Graphic cards. And is it posible to use both at the same time?

How do I tell which graphics card is better?
ATI's X series is definetly, but the X series is for gaming. Um, you can have 2 graphics cards running at the same time, but not those 2, they have to be the same graphics card, because what happens is that 1 graphics card takes 1 half of the screen, then the other takes the other half, if you have a slow graphics card with a fast graphics card, it wont' come out right, so having 2 different graphics cards won't. For having 2 graphics cards, ATI calls it Crossfire, and Nvidia calls it SLI, but Nvidia gives you the option of 4 graphics cards at once, which is called Quad SLI. But yea, X1650 all the way
Reply:The one with the bigger number
Reply:9600 supports direct x but it looks like the other one is better.

I think you can do about anything on both. Try both of them out and see.

Reply:You cannot use both t the same time unless they are the same card and are either crossfire of SLI enabled with a mobo that supports that setup.

Anyway the X1650 is far superior to the 9600. You are looking at a difference of night and day. One major difference is shader model 2 and 3. The X1650 is shader model 3 and the 9600 is shader model 2.

The difference is quite a difference in shadow rendering which makes games that use realistic shadows look awsome.

Go with the X1650 you will be happy!

Good Luck!
