Does 'photoshop' make use of decent graphics cards? Will buying a decent one improve performance?

I have a crappy one at the mo.

Does 'photoshop' make use of decent graphics cards? Will buying a decent one improve performance?
Upgrading from integrated video can't hurt, but photoshop is a heavy user of your processor and ram. Check what you have and upgrade as needed, I have 512MB ram and it runs slow for me, so you may need anywhere from 1-2GB

Reply:Photoshop is more of a RAM hog. Although, there are benefits with certain video card, for example, if you have an onboard (embeded) video card, and upgrade to say a MX440, yes, there will be an increase. That is because the onboard video uses some of your ram.
Reply:it shouldnt matter what kind of graphics card you have. the major things with photoshop is lots of RAM and speed helps a lot
