What are some good graphics cards?

What are some good Nvidia and Ati Graphics cards.

I don't care what price and can u please name at least 3 and the price of em? oh yes and make sure they r DX10

What are some good graphics cards?
8800 GT is a great video card but it most certainly is NOT the most powerful one at the moment and you certainly should not pay $400 for one.

9800 GX2: $500+ (quite a bit more powerful than the 8800 GT)

9800 GTX and 8800 GTX: $400+ (roughly the same)

8800 GT: $200+ (best bang for the buck)

*8800 GTS G92 variant: $250+ (almost same as 8800 GT but more expensive, comes in 512 configuration)

ATI 3870: $275+ (little worse than 8800 GT)

*8800 GTS G80 variant: $150 (discontinued, still better than GS, comes in 320 and 640 MB configuration)

ATI 3850: $225+ (roughly equal to 8800 GS)

8800 GS: $165+ (good value for the money; not good for SLI)

9600 GT: $165+ (good value for the money; great for SLI)

You will need a solid 550 to 650 watt PSU to power any of these and a solid 700 to 1000 watt PSU to power any of these in a SLI or Crossfire configuration.

SLI and Crossfire are irrelevant unless you have at least an Athlon X2 4800 or the equivalent Pentium Core 2 Duo CPU.

*There are two versions of the 8800 GTS. The current 8800 GTS uses the same G92 GPU of the GT and comes in 512 MB configuration. The older 8800 GTS used a G80 GPU and is significantly inferior to the 8800 GT. That version came in 320 and 640 MB configurations and has been discontinued. The 320 model has value to the budget gamer, while the 640 should be avoided and the 512 "effectively" performs the same as factory over clocked 8800 GT.
Reply:nVidia 8800GTS (512MB version)

nVidia 9800GX2 (probably most poowerful card out atm)

Nvidia 8800Ultra (768MB)

the second one if you REALLY dont care what price.

ATI

I think the current series are 3800's, so 3870?

sorry if i'm wrong.as a GENERAL rule, the higher the number the better.Just as a really really basic rule, don't live by it. want to be sure you have the right slot etc, and taht your PSU can handle it though.
