It says built for windows vista, but will it work fine for XP?
Are the new graphics cards ONLY for Windows Vista?
New graphics cards should work with any operating system for which drivers are present (Win2000/2003/XP, Linux, OS X, etc). If they say they are "Built for Windows Vista", that just means they support the DirectX 10 feature set (DirectX 10 will only be made available on Vista).
As another answerer pointed out, some graphics cards may not allow Vista to run at full capacity. If you're concerned about your current graphic card's ability to run on Vista with features like Aero Glass, you can download the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor to evaluate your PC for Vista.
Reply:You should type the make of the video card ex. : Radeon X1600 or GeForce 7600.
In General The new graphic cards work fine on either window XP or Vista with no problems at all.
Ex. for modern cars that will work on both systems just fine:
ATI : Radeon X1300 X1400 X1600 X1800 X1900 etc...
nVidia: Gefoce 7300 7400 7600 7800 7900 7950 etc...
Any older than those listed here will NOT work 100% with windows vista like radeon X850 or Geforce 6600 they will run older games fine but some of the fetures of windows vista will not work on these cards (such as aero) and some of the ew games will not work with their full features and effecincy.
