Do dual graphics cards make a difference?

Im going to get a dell xps 630 and I want to know if i should get the dual 8800gt 512mb or just a single 88gt. Would one be fine to play Crysis on full specs? Is a second 8800gt really worth $300?

XPS 630:

Quad Core 2.4ghz

4gb RAM 800mhz

500gb 7200rpm

Graphics card - ??????

Do dual graphics cards make a difference?
It's definately worth it.

SLi rocks, but make sure you don't have more then one monitor. SLi isn't compatible with multiple monitors.

On one graphics card, It'l probably play Crysis on "High" settings, *okay*, mabye a little lag here and there.

But, with two, I'm guessing it will play on "Very High" with no lag anywhere, and mabye a larger resolution.

Good luck!

For your last question.

The 8800GT is NOT worth another 300$.

Buy the computer with one in, and then purchase another one for 180$ from http://www.newegg.com This way you can see if you just like one card, and if you want more performance you save money on a new one!
Reply:Don't but the 8800gt, they are outdated and overpriced (especially form dell) go to newegg and get two 9800gso's or two 9800gtx's. They beat the crap out of 8800gt's. Also dell sucks and they are overpriced. Quad cores are overrated, you are better getting a dual core wolfdale 3.0Ghz, (they overclock to 4.0Ghz stable on air!) and doing your own build. You will pay half as much and get twice the performance. Plus you can have all the bragging rights that come with building your own computer. Once again Newegg is the best. Go there.
Reply:just makes the frames per secound faster and with that, higher graphics. Depends on crysis graphics. My vote is no, $300 is over the top. Give it to charity!!!!!!
Reply:Having a second gt would give you a boost. Although i do play crysis with my single 8800gt on all high with 4x AA and 1440X900 resolution. Hope that helps.
Reply:It is only useful to go SLI if your monitor is huge like a 22". But if its only an 15" its not worth it.
