Who is the best manufacturer for graphics cards for PC's?

I've only had the chance to use ATI (Radeon) but I would like to know 2 things

1 - list in order the different manufactures, what their weaknesses are and what is good about their cards

2 - what is the normal for video card memory now? 128mb? 256mb? 512mb? 1gb? I'm thinking 128 - 256...

3 - what are retail prices?

Basically, just anything you know about them nowadays. Thx!

Who is the best manufacturer for graphics cards for PC's?
intel

Reply:Lol @ Intel.

No, Intel is a DISTANT 4th in graphic card performance.

Stick with ATI or NVIDIA. Which one is best varies depending on the model and what type of games you intend to play.

Here is a link that allows you to compare cards based on the type of game:

As far as the norm for video memory, it depends on how much you are willing to spend but the average is about 384mb.

Retail prices vary, but you can expect to pay about $200 US for a solid performer.
Reply:You'll get a range of opinions on this, although to be honest, its more personal preference most of the time rather than hard facts.

Personally, I prefer nVidia but have never used an ATI card... nor do I intend to do so in the forseeable future. As for the individual card manufacturers, I'm not really that bothered. I guess Gainward, XFX, BFG and Asus would be just some of the popular brands, but you'd have to compare individual specs (and reviews) to see which one produces the 'best' card.
Reply:nvidia geforce is the best one and has no faultsin it except that it is more costlier.

a cheaper one is ATI, although very good, lacks some graphic display opetions and other cool features of nvidia

intel's diplay card is the most popular one nowadays alongwit nvidia, they are also very very good
Reply:nVidia or ATI by far and i would recomend 256-512mb for games.
Reply:Normal Graphics memory 512MB - 1024MB.

Retail prices range from 250$ - 800$

Nvidia and ATI are the primary graphics cards technologies. ATI Produces all of theres and Nvidia has many flavors and series. I'm not too familiar with ATI.

EVGA

PNY

OCZ all have their own flavors of Nvidia cards... I prefer EVGA. They've got the ball rolling.

Besides... any GAME hardware manufacturer naming a motherboard "750i SLI FTW" (750i Scalable-Link Interface For The Win) is gamer engineers for gamers kind of company! haha!
