When using two 8800 GTX graphics cards, is it safe to fill the extra PCI slots?

I am looking to purchase a DFI LanParty UT NF680i LT SLI-T2R motherboard, and I have two 8800 GTX graphics cards. I would like to use another PCI slot for my audio card, and maybe a TV card, but am concerned as to the safety of doing so (I don't want to damage any of the cards) because of how close they would sit to one another. Can anyone tell me whether or not this is feasible with this system? Thank you!!

Yep they should be fine, just watch the temp on them (if you can), make sure the fans are clean, and can get a little bit of airflow through them.

Reply:You shouldn't be worried about how close they are together. The only problem you may come up with is that the GTX won't fit in the computer tower itself or that the GTX over hangs a PCI slot but if thats the case with overhanging the other PCI slot don't worry because obviously you won't be able to put another card in that slot. If you would like to monitor your temp of the cards you can get a program called SpeedFan from http://www.almico.com/speedfan433.exe
Reply:It'll be fine, they were designed to be able to withstand the heat.

Even if the 8800GTXs do have their heat increased a little, it won't matter since the fans will also increase in speed to cool down faster.
