Can you give me the list of ATI and NVIDIA graphics cards that are better than the NVIDIA Geforce 7900 series?

My friend has an Nvidia 7900 series card.........and the graphics are pretty cool.... I got a Nvidia 7300 GS.... but I want one that is better than his...... a long list would be nice :) Both ATI and NVIDIA.... thanx!

Can you give me the list of ATI and NVIDIA graphics cards that are better than the NVIDIA Geforce 7900 series?
Best price for power hands down on the market NVIDIA 8800 GT.

Other great graphics cards are NVIDIA 8800 series and the new NVIDIA 9600/9800 series.

There is nothing that great from ATI. The 8800GT will out perform almost anything from ATI for much less cost too.

If you are going to get into SLI or 2 on 1 cards NVIDIA will still out perform the current ATI line-up.
Reply:Right here.

1.Nvidia GeForce 7 Series: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_7_S... (I know you 'said' better than the 7 series, just thought while I was here I'd throw this in.)

2.Nvidia 8 series:

Reply:From nVidia: 8800 GT, 8800 GTX (and Ultra), 9600GT (possibly), 9800 GTX (and GX2).

From ATI: X1900/X1950 XT's, 2900 XT, 3870, 3870x2.

Based on the current graphics cards that are out there in the market. The next generation of cards due out in a few months is not included.

And no, an 8800 GT will *not* outperform everything ATI has (it'll fall short to a 3870x2 and a 2900 XT 1GB). It just happens to be a very good card at pricepoint.

Hope this helps, have fun schooling your friend's 7900.
Reply:Well i dont know much about the ati ones but nvidias are done in series so a high end 7 series (i.e the 7900) would be better then a low end 8 series, so really anything 8600+ id say for nvidia to out do your friends, and the website in the sources part can be used to compare graphics cards so you can find one to top your friends. Hope this helped Notty.
