Is it possible to get software updates for PC graphics cards?

When i bought the PC it Windows XP Home installed and a standard VGA graphics adapter. However since then i upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium and the graphics card doesn't work properly. Are there any free updates available to rectify this problem or do i have to fork out for a new graphics card.

thx

You'll need latest driver for your new Vista. Make sure you know the model of your gfx card. (example: nvidia geforce fx 5200, ati radeon, intel express 3d, etc.)

For nvidia, go here: http://www.nvidia.com/page/drivers.html

For ATI : http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

For Intel : http://www.intel.com

Good luck!
Reply:The type of grpahics card would be nice, but windows should find new updates for your card in windows update if it's an integrated graphics card. Other cards like ATI and NVIDIA can get their drivers from their sites.

If you have a really old card like a NeoGeo, then you're really going to want to get a new one.
Reply:You have to load the drivers for your card. Video cards, sound cards, and network cards do not always get installed automatically when loading Windows. If you know the make and model of your card, go to the manufacture web site and download the drivers.
