i have a packard bell computer with windows vista and i need graphics card that will work for the sims 2 univercity and warcraft 3 frozenthrone but doesent cost too much?
What is the best graphics cards for a windows vista PC and for sims 2 univercity and warcraft 3 frozenthrone?
if the video card slot you have is AGP then get the best card you can find but the best AGP card cant run sims 2 very well.
if the slot is PCI-express 16x then an nvidia 8600gt should be sufficient. or for more money an 8800gt would allow you to run sims 2 on all high settings with no trouble.

Where can I find a list of graphics cards that support Pixel Shaders v1.1?
I downloaded Lego Star Wars 2 for PC. It took longer then usally. When it was all done loading it said it couldn't work because my graphic card does not support Pixel Shaders v1.1. Could I please have a list of graphic cards that DO support Pixel Shaders v1.1?
Where can I find a list of graphics cards that support Pixel Shaders v1.1?
any nvidia card in the high 5 series or better should support pixel shader v1.1 or higher
Reply:Get the Chip India magazine for the month of February from anywhere. They have done marvellous work by testing a total of 46 best graphic cards and all of them are described in detail. Hope you get it or just email me at Vegeta6565@gmail.com

What is the difference between these two graphics cards?
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS 512MB
Nvidia Geforce Go 8800 GTS 512MB
I know one goes in a laptop, but what sort of performance differences would there be?
What is the difference between these two graphics cards?
the desktop version will be faster
the desktop version has more stream processors and has a higher clock speed.
The 8800 GTS is more comparable with the laptop 8800m GTX

Does laptop version of graphics cards vary in performance than desktop?
I am looking forward to a dell laptop that is equipped with a 256 mb nvidia 8600M gpu ?Will it perform as fine as the desktop version of 8600?If I am gonna face a performance drop, how much will it be ?
Does laptop version of graphics cards vary in performance than desktop?
Yes it does greatly if u have a built in card which is most common in the most of the laptops.
Reply:For the most part they will be the same. The difference comes in that a desktop could have higher clocked speed and be overclocked as where the notebook version is stuck with what it has. In fact the notebook card wont even beable to update the driver because the card is built for the model of the notebook.
But overall you can expect about the same. If your getting the 8600m your looking at twice the power if the 7600
Reply:Basically laptops are just smaller by design. But the technical qualities of the laptop version could be different, or could be the same. You need to find out what the M stands for. I can recall buying a geforce4mx before I found out that geforce4 were awesome and the mx version was COMPLETELY different and performed right next to much earlier versions.

Also google some benchmarks that actually compare performance of videocards for different games and applications.

Can I have two SLI capable graphics cards of different speeds work together in SLI mode when bridged?
Let's say I get a Dell XPS 630 with one 8800GT. Can I get a BFG 8800gt from newegg.com after I get the XPS and both have them work together in SLI? They're both 8800gt's but one is stock and the other is overclocked. Would this work or would I have to get two BFG 8800gt's?

if they're oc'd doesn't matter, they just have to have the same name (8800gt) and the same amount of VRAM.

Will two different graphics cards work togther in same computer?
I want to know before any problems arise
Will two different graphics cards work togther in same computer?
I think it depends a lot on the cards themselves, and what they are meant to and able to do. I do know that some computers (for gaming, primarily) are being built with multiple graphics cards.
Reply:I am pretty sure they will. I have done that before for a dual display setup. I am pretty sure they were 2 different manufactured cards too. One AGP %26amp; one PCI, worked fine.
Now I just buy cards that have dual display, and save a slot.
